About

"...anything and everything may disappear..." - Pierre Nora

Mnemosyne Projects is a non-profit curatorial platform and international cultural think tank dedicated to conservation and artistic representation of authentic sites of memory.

Using cross-cultural research, artistic interpretation, interdisciplinary curation and strategic partnerships we identify, record and archive hybrid cultural phenomena that hold historical significance in the creative heritage of communities. Our mission is to ensure that these symbols of our shared past endure through the (re)construction of collective memory.

Founded on the Greek island of Hydra and inspired by its unique intercultural artistic heritage, Mnemosyne Projects engages audiences on and off the island and collaborates with artists, musicians, producers, curators, writers, educational and cultural institutions worldwide.

Mnemosyne Publishing, the independent publishing arm of Mnemosyne Projects, is dedicated to amplifying the voices and stories that sustain the mission of the non-profit. It supports the preservation and celebration of cultural memory by publishing a diverse range of works, including books, art compilations, musical recordings, and films.

The publishing house collaborates with artists, authors, musicians, filmmakers, and thinkers to produce compelling and thought-provoking content that reflects and enriches the creative heritage of global communities. From limited-edition art books that capture the essence of hybrid cultural phenomena to music albums and films inspired by authentic sites of memory, Mnemosyne Publishing ensures that these cultural expressions reach a wide and engaged audience.

True to the spirit of the organization, Mnemosyne Publishing strives to be a bridge between tradition and innovation, fostering cross-disciplinary and intercultural dialogue. With each project, the publishing house aims to inspire new ways of thinking, celebrating the past while shaping the creative memory of the future.
