Maximiliano Ocampo Salinas (b. 1984, Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a visual artist whose practice explores the poetic relationships between matter, space, perception, and time. Working across sculpture, installation, textile interventions, and object-based practices, he investigates the tension between the visible and the invisible, transforming everyday materials into contemplative structures that challenge conventional ways of seeing.

Through processes of repetition, accumulation, displacement, and recontextualization, Ocampo Salinas reveals the symbolic and conceptual potential embedded within ordinary objects. His work examines the systems, patterns, and geometric orders that shape human experience, while opening space for chance, ambiguity, and sensory reflection. By altering the customary functions and meanings of materials, he constructs subtle interventions that invite renewed attention to the overlooked dimensions of daily life.

Ocampo Salinas has presented solo exhibitions in leading galleries throughout Argentina and participated in numerous group exhibitions across Latin America. His work has been included in exhibitions in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Chile, and he has been selected for the National Visual Arts Salon (2011, 2013, and 2022) and the MACSUR Visual Arts Award (2018). In 2011, he received an Honorable Mention in the Textile Art category at the National Arts Salon at Palais de Glace. His works are held in private and institutional collections, including the Barzilai Hollander Collection in Brussels, Belgium.

PROJECTS

Group exhibition reconsiders Argentina’s surrealist artistic legacy from the unstable terrain of the contemporary world, displacing the human as its privileged subject and tracing agency across bodies, technologies, ecologies, matter, other forms of life, and invisible forces.
